About project: 

We are looking for a Backend Developer for our French client, who specializes in producing various types of glasses and collaborating with opticians. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life by improving the quality of vision.

Responsibilities:

• As a Laravel Developer, you will be maintaining and updating website content, including homepage banners, product information, and store locator listings, ensuring that all information remains current, accurate, and regionally relevant;
• You will be implementing minor front-end/UI changes using HTML and CSS, improving user experience, brand consistency, and interface responsiveness across devices; 
• You will be identifying and mitigating basic IT security risks through regular patching, access control management, and code review of application files and configurations; 
• You will be monitoring site stability and troubleshooting front-end and back-end issues, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted functionality across all integrated components; 
• You will be managing static and structured content using Contentful CMS, maintaining a consistent and scalable API-driven content workflow; 
• You will be handling product catalog updates via Excel, including formatting regional-specific content and translations for various markets; 
• You will be maintaining and updating store locator data through structured JSON uploads generated from CSV files, ensuring up-to-date regional listings;
• You will be supporting MailChimp integrations, ensuring smooth newsletter distribution, user engagement, and subscription form functionality;
• You will be verifying newsletter and appointment form data flows, ensuring proper submission and synchronization with the corporate CRM, including data validation and duplicate prevention;
• You will be reviewing and addressing IT security risks based on current infrastructure setup, applying incremental improvements to system security without full-scale upgrades;
• You will be managing FTP credentials and configuration files, ensuring secure access, version consistency, and correct handling of environment variables in .env files;
• You will be supporting deployments using existing manual FTP workflows, ensuring accuracy and avoiding downtime during updates;
• You will be monitoring Laravel logs, identifying and reporting recurring issues for further resolution, and documenting findings for traceability;
• You will be collaborating with internal teams to document content updates and configuration changes, ensuring accurate version tracking and system understanding.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Laravel (PHP), including experience managing MVC-based applications and custom backend logic;
• Work in a hybrid set up (3 days onsite in Alabang, Muntinlupa and 2 days WFH) – Necessary condition;
• Proficiency with MySQL, including database creation, data manipulation, and query optimization;
• Basic experience with AWS EC2 hosting, including server access, file structure navigation, and system log review;
• Familiarity with Contentful CMS, and understanding of API-based content workflows; 
• Experience with MailChimp integration, including form handling and CRM data flow management;
• Understanding of manual deployment processes, particularly FTP-based deployment and rollback protocols;
• Familiarity with CRM form integrations, ensuring proper data capture and field mapping;
• Comfort working with legacy codebases, with the ability to document changes clearly and adhere to existing code standards;
• High attention to detail, particularly in multilingual content formatting, regional data management, and content validation;
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and technical teams.
